In 1990 Zunder established his own consultancy firm, Zunder & Partners. This enterprise was specialized in financial and economic consulting, making feasibility studies and providing advice on insuring and reinsuring. The clients were from different Caribbean countries, including Suriname. According to Zunder, starting his own business is the best decision he made in his whole career.

In 2001 he left Curaçao for the Netherlands. There he started an in depth study on the economic history of Suriname from an Afro-centric perspective. This study will lead to his promotion as Doctor in the economic sciences. In this study, after an analysis, he comes to the conclusion that Suriname should demand restitution from the Netherlands for the historical suffering that preceding Dutch governments and enterprises caused in the colony of Suriname.

In 2005 the first preparations were made to establish a Chapter of the Pan African organization Panafstrag in Suriname. Mrs. Barryl Biekman played a pivotal role in this process. Zunder is also the Chairman of Panafstrag-Suriname. This organization was launched on June 25th 2007. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Afro-Surinamese organization Fiti Fu Wini.

In 2004 he returned to Suriname where he initially concentrated on coaching starting entrepreneurs running small businesses.

In 2005 he was asked by the Surinamese government to serve as project coordinator for the project Project Sector Reform. He performed this task until June 15th 2007.

2008 brings the publication of ‘Suriname: Land of Opportunities & Joy.’

In mid 2006 he came into contact again with Eric Lelienhof, the founder of Intelsur. Their first contacts date back to 1992 when he had held a presentation on the ICT outsourcing industry in Suriname and the possibilities that would come with it.

From 2006 he assisted Lelienhof with the negotiations to reach a partnership with the telecommunication enterprise UTS from Curaçao.
On December 17th 2007 the joint venture between both companies was launched and the company is now known as UNIQA. He serves as Management Support in this new telecommunications company.

Zunder is also the chairman of the National Federation of Afro-Suriname in the Diaspora, Un Bondru. This movement was established to increase the consciousness of Afro-Surinamese and also to unite the Afro-Surinamese, taking into account that Suriname is a multi-ethnic and multicultural society.
