Armand Zunder was born in Paramaribo on April 14th 1946 at Achtersteeg #3. His parents were Eleonora (Nora) Zunder-Gemert † on October 28th 2007 and Johannes Cornelis Zunder † on June 21st 2002.
His parents were married for about 58 years and they lived and worked mostly on the island of Curaçao in their prime.
Father Zunder was employed at Shell and later at the Curaçaon Docking Company.
The Zunder family consisted of 6 children, of which he is the second son. The remaining children are Iwan † November 24th 1962, Hellen, Norma, Rockey and Ramon.
He visited elementary school and high school mostly on Curaçao; this includes the Marnix School and the Peter Stuyvesant College. He also visited the Richard Volaire school on Burenstreet in Paramaribo.
During his school years, he usually belonged to the best members of his class, even at a young age, who would read often.
Father Zunder was a welder on Curaçao, an exceptional electric welder. After the children came of age, Mother Zunder started studying and obtained several diplomas. After this, she took care of the elderly as a nurse. The Zunder family was not wealthy, but they made ends meat and there was still enough money to save. With these savings, Mother and Father Zunder built a house in Suriname on Tammengastreet 54, where they could spend their old days.
